Photo l.a. 2014 will be joining huge celebration of the arts when it moves to its new home at the historic LA Mart in downtown Los Angeles on January 16 – 19. Along with photo l.a. the LA Art Show at the Conventions Center and downtown galleries will be working in together to create a phenomenal weekend of art collaboration in this newly hip artistic hub. A shuttle bus between photo l.a. and the LA Art Show will be running between the two venues making it easy for photo l.a. attendees to enjoy this exceptional opportunity to enjoy a weekend of art and culture.

In its 23rd year, photo l.a. is the longest running photographic art exposition west of New York City. . Exhibiting works from the 19th century up to the most contemporary cutting edge photographic art work, this year’s exhibition, housed in the LA Mart’s massive 60,000 square foot Exhibition Hall will feature internationally renowned galleries, and serve as a platform for education and discussion.

Kicking off the weekend on Thursday January 16th, photo l.a. will host the preview gala to benefit Inner-City Arts. The non-profit organization is an oasis of learning, achievement and creativity in the heart of Skid Row where can work with professional teaching artists in well-equipped studios receiving hands-on instruction in a wide range of media and performing arts.

Acclaimed as a showcase for the best in the photographic arts, photo l.a. will continue its dynamic reputation with an outstanding programming series addressing the most current topics in the converging worlds of art and photography. With over 10,000 visitors photo l.a. has become a major platform and meeting place for collectors, curators, and artists in Los Angeles.
