Gymnastics photographer Michael J. Lawler was in North Carolina this weeekend as the Wolfpack welcomed rival West Virginia.
The meet came down to the wire, but North Carolina pulled it out in the end, posting 194.55 to West Virginia's 194.475.
The win came via NC State's final floor routine of the night, performed by freshman standout Stephanie Ouellette.
All was not lost for West Virginia, however: senior Amy Bieski won the all-around (39.1) and tied for first on vault with NCSU's Brittany Vontz (9.825). Bieski and beam champion Hope Sloanhoffer (9.825) also tied NCSU's Ouellette for the floor title (9.825). NC State junior Jess Panza won beam (9.775). (West Virginia Mountaineers)
