DePaul Blue Demons fans were treated to their first look at coach Oliver Purnell's vision of the team Saturday, as they played host to the Northwood University Timberwolves in exhibition play. It was much to see, as they pounded the 'Wolves 107 - 62 at McGrath Arena.

And it was not the score alone that was impressive. Looking more quick and athletic than they have in the last few seasons, the Blue Demons put on the full-court press early, and kept it on all game, scoring 45 points off turnovers.

They'd keep the tempo up on offense as well, with five players scoring in double figures on the night. Lead by freshman Cleveland Melvin's 19 points, they'd run up and down the court, scoring on one acrobatic dunk after another against an overmatched Northwood team.

And make no mistake, this is who they intend to be. "That is our (defensive) style and scheme", say Purnell.

Next up for DePaul is the last of their exhibition games next Sunday against Lewis.
