The Chicago Blackhawks got their first real taste of what defense of the Stanley Cup will look like this season, as a feisty ( and fighting) St. Louis Blues team rolled into town, taking a 2-0 lead into the third period.
The Hawks would fight back though, scoring on a pair of Marian Hossa goals late in the third period to tie the game, and force overtime. Patrick Sharp would complete the comeback in OT, scoring an assisted goal for the game-winner. The victory extends the winning streak for Chicago to three, as well as a personal streak of game-winning goals for Sharp (three).
“Whether its back door or down the slot, when the puck is going in, you seem to find those quiet areas and the puck comes to you a bit more,” Sharp said.
