Friday, April 4, is opening night for Valley Youth Theatre’sSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The show runs through Sunday, April 20.

“Snow White was the first show produced by VYT in 1989,” said Bobb Cooper, producing artistic director. “It’s one of the most popular fairy tales we’ve done, and this will be the sixth time we’ve mounted it!”

The full-length musical comedy features book and lyrics by Elsa Rael and music by Michael Valenti, both of whom collaborated on Ahearn and Del Valle’sBeauty and the Beast.”

“Snow White” will be directed and choreographed by Molly Lajoie, who designed dance routines for “Shrek the Musical” and “Seussical” at VYT last year.

A dozen talented actors, ages 8 to 16, from across the Valley take the stage: Jessie Jo Pauley as Snow White, Sarah Moss as the Queen, Sara Matin as the Mirror, Connor Baker as the Woodsman, William Deihl as the Prince and Katie Brown, Thea Eigo, Ian Gray, Charlie Siegel, Justin Vaught, Alexandra Kirby and Andy Wissink as the Seven Dwarfs.

Now in its 25th season, VYT is located at 525 N. First St. in Phoenix. The winner of more than four dozen National Youth Arts Awards, it was voted “Best Live Theater” on azcentral.com. Phoenix Magazine called it the “Best Place to Take a Bow,” and The Arizona Republic rated it one of the “Top Ten Places to Become a Future Star.”
