If you have previously visited Rocky Point, Mexico and have been thrilled by the sighting of a dolphin, maybe even captured on on your camera lens, you may want to jump in your car and head down to the beach in Puerto Penasco this weekend. (only 3.5 hour drive from Phoenix). They’re everywhere.
Beautiful beach weather temperatures are back and hanging around with days filled with warm bright sunshine and a beckoning glistening sea. It feels like a typical beach day. Grab a blanket, stretch out on the cozy sand, catch up on a juicy summer beach read and listen to some great tunes. If you close your eyes, I swear you’ll think lazy days of summer are here at the beach. Your thinking the only thing to make it more perfect would be a few dolphins frolicking in the background.
Well we can make that happen in Rocky Point. My advice is to get out on the water. Take a boat ride on one of the many available in Rocky Point, or rent a boat for the day. Find a friend who has a boat, rent a kayak or blow up a raft and go floating. Any of the above will do the job, just get on the water, ready to watch the dolphin show. It’s a free show, everyone is welcome. Although no set time for the start of the show exists; you may catch it in the early morning or late afternoon before the sun sets in the dazzling Sea of Cortez. Regardless of a set time, the show will go on.
