NASCAR released its 2015 schedule on Tuesday and Phoenix International Raceway gets to host two weekends of America’s favorite racing series.

“I'm delighted that Phoenix International Raceway will once again be able to host an exciting NASCAR weekend in the spring,” PIR President Bryan R. Sperber in a Tuesday release. “The March 15th date will give fans a great opportunity to sample so many attractions in the Valley as well as enjoy our great weather that time of year.”

From March 12-15 NASCAR will call PIR home. On Sunday, March 15 the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will rub the Camping World 500 at PIR’s 1-mile tri-oval. On Saturday March 14 the Nationwide Series gets a chance to put on a show for the Valley of the Sun.

PIR moved the Spring race weekend to mid-March in an attempt to bolster attendance at their semi-annual NASCAR happening. The race weekend falls on Spring Break for Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Grand Canyon University and Northern Arizona University. Numerous Arizona K-12 schools are also on Spring Break the same weekend.

The second NASCAR weekend at PIR is from November 12-15. The Eliminator round of the NSCS Chase for the Sprint Cup is scheduled for Sunday November 15. The Quicken Loans Race for the Heroes 500 is the penultimate race in the 2015 NSCS season and is the highlight of the second NASCAR weekend at PIR.

On Friday, November 13 the Camping World Truck Series makes their annual stop at PIR and the next day the Nationwide Series will put on a show in the desert.
