Homeschoolers in Phoenix have some great opportunities during February. Besides beautiful weather that is perfect for field trips, this week brings a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the Arizona Centennial.
All year long
- Free museum admissions at selected venues and days
Since February is Black History month, the African-American Multicultural Museum might be of special interest.Celebrate Arizona's Centennial with a round-robin of visits to the numerous historical centers such as the Arizona Capitol Museum, Arizona Military Museum, Rawhide Museum, Saguaro Ranch Park Historical Area or the Wells Fargo History Museum.
- Check out the great restaurants that provide free meals to kids or the birthday person.
February
- 12: College Goal Sunday for free help completing the FAFSA for federal student aid. Locations are in mulitple places around the state.
- 14: Arizona Centennial (Various celebrations around the state leading up to this day)
All day activities at the state capitol, featuring a re-enactment of Governor Hunt's walk to the capitol, Wayne Newton, a special ceremony with Governor Jan Brewer and more. - 15: Complete and submit FAFSA for best financial aid options for college
- 17: Early registration deadline for March Iowa testing at Covenant Home School Resource Center
