If you’re looking to have a fun Friday night in north Scottsdale Ernie's Inn is a good bet. This straight bar is not the place to go if you're looking to spend a lot of time behind the mic. While the sound system is fairly amazing, the rotation of singers is very long. This scene is more of a get-soused-and-have-a-good-time rather than a practice field. Everyone here will come up to the mic to sing their heart out. Most are fair to good: A handful are nearly tone-deaf, but since the song rotation is so long you won't have to sit through the same person more than twice. But you WILL want to troop through to see Elvis perform at least once (for realz!).
The patrons at Ernie's make up a good mix of the city.. Everyone from 20-somethings to Snow Birds are in attendance and ready to have a GREAT time. Between the two bars (both indoors and out) you won't be waiting long for your favorite cocktail. The very attentive wait staff will have you refilled before you realize you were even getting thirsty. However paying cash IS recommended as the pub is very busy and the LAST thing you want on a Friday night is to have drinks put on your tab you didn't order.
