The National Hockey League lockout is over and lets the game begin. The Phoenix Coyotes will begin their 2012-31 campaign on Saturday, January 19 when they head to Dallas to take on the Stars, per a recent release. The Coyotes' home opener is the following evening against the Chicago Black Hawks.
Due to the NHL lockout, the 2012-13 regular season has been shortened to 48-games, 24-games at home and 24-games away from the friendly confines of Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ. For their Pacific Division schedule the Coyotes have five-games each against the defending Stanley Cup champions Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks. They will have four games each against their remaining division foes, the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks.
As a result of the shortened regular season schedule the Coyotes will have three-games each amongst the rest of their Western Conference foes. There will be no inter-conference games during the regular season. The Coyotes' 2012-13 regular season ends on Saturday, April 27, on the road, against the Ducks.
