Announced in a press release this week, the Motor City Madman is hitting the road for a national headlining tour that kicks off July 3 in Wichita Falls, TX. The tour coincides with the release of Nugent’s first all-new studio album in seven years, ShutUp&Jam! that is scheduled to be released the same day as the Phoenix show.
Nugent leads the pack of renowned musicians on the album, handling guitar and vocal duties, alongside bassist Greg Smith, drummer Mick Brown and longtime musical cohort guitarist/vocalist Derek St. Holmes. Special guest Sammy Hagar brings his vocal power to “She’s Gone.”
At 65, Nugent’s no-holds-barred career spans five decades of multi-platinum hits and more than 40 million albums sold. Both as a solo artist and with the Amboy Dukes and Damn Yankees, the guitar legend has amassed a sizable list of well-known numbers, including "Journey To The Center Of The Mind," "Stranglehold" (ranked in the Top 100 Classic Rock Songs and #1 Guitar Lick), "Free For All," "Dog Eat Dog," "Wango Tango," "Cat Scratch Fever" (32nd Best Hard Rock Song of All Time), "Motor City Madhouse," cult classic “Fred Bear” "High Enough” and “Love Grenade.”
Celebrity Theatre is located just four blocks south of the Loop 202, at 440 N. 32nd St., in Phoenix.
