Noel Gallagher is one half of the former band Oasis (the other half is Brother Liam). Known as much for their meteoric rise to rock royalty with their first album, 1994’s Definitely Maybe, as they are for their constant break-ups and public feuds, it may just be that these brothers from Manchester England have finally separated for good. With Noel’s success with the High Flying Birds record and tour, the brother who penned most of the Oasis hits seems to be just that, a bird flying high.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was recorded in London and completed in Los Angeles during 2010 and the first half of 2011. The album was co-produced by Noel Gallagher and Dave Sardy, who produced the last Oasis album, Dig Out Your Soul (2008).

The album went straight to #1 in the UK, selling 240,000 units and going Platinum in its first 3 weeks of release. Gallagher’s debut solo album ranks among the highest selling debuts of 2011.

Beginning this past August, with the UK debut of “The Death of You and Me”, Gallagher has released a trilogy of videos including “If I Had a Gun” and culminating with a video for the single 'AKA… What A Life!'. The video was co-directed by Mike Bruce and Blake West, who worked with Noel on the video for 'The Death Of You And Me'. Filmed in California, Arizona and New Mexico, the video features an outrageous performance by actor/comedian Russell Brand. The opportunity to see an artist of this caliber at a theatre like the Orpheum is not to be missed.
