In a recent press release, Live Nation announced that Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated bands Goo Goo Dolls and Daughtry will hit the road in June for an extensive summer tour. Also on the bill, performing an acoustic set, are Plain White T's. This trio of bands is part of Mix 96.9’s Sweet 16 Birthday Concert.

The Goo Goo Dolls are touring in support of their 10th studio album Magnetic. With the red-hot single "Come To Me," the fastest-growing single in the band’s history, it looks like the Goo Goo Dolls have no plans to slow down any time soon.

Daughtry is touring in support of their fourth album Baptized. The band’s latest single, "Waiting For Superman," is among the top fifteen songs on the hot adult contemporary (Hot AC) chart and has sold more than half a million downloads. The band is currently on a European and sold-out U.K. tour.

If you don’t know much about either of these bands, here is a quick snapshot:

After 28+ years Buffalo New York’s favorite sons, The Goo Goo Dolls have become one of the most influential forces in popular music history. Selling more than 10 million albums since 1986 and having 14 top-ten radio hits including "Name," "Slide," and "Iris," among may others, the band has toured the globe countless times, performed in front of millions of fans and received numerous awards. Vocalist-guitarist John Rzeznik has been honored with the Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award and the Goo Goo Dolls have been inducted into Guitar Center's Historic Hollywood Rock Walk. If you have not seen this band live, you are missing out!

For fans of "American Idol," you know that in 2006, Chris Daughtry was ousted from the show shockingly early and shortly after, went on to turn down the job as new lead singer with Fuel. Many wondered why…well, he knew something none of us knew, that he was destined to share his amazing songs and artistry with the world on his own terms.

Today, multi-platinum recording artist Daughtry has scored four No. 1 hits, garnered four Grammy nominations, won four American Music Awards, sold over 8 million albums and 18 million singles worldwide. Daughtry's self-titled debut was the fastest-selling rock debut in Soundscan history and its follow up, Leave This Town, marked the band’s second consecutive No. 1 album. Not too shabby. This band is exceptional live, don’t miss this show!
