There are some great local bands showcased this week around the valley, and as always, we have some great national music coming through all week !

Tuesday:

Gregg Allman @ Talking Stick

Allman brings his blues and country chops to Talking Stick - as a founding member of the Allman Brothers, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will show a range of styles to his fans.

Wednesday:

TMI SXSW Showcase Fundraiser @ Crescent Ballroom

This packed show features Decker, Jared & the Mill, Sara Robinson & the Midnight Special, The Wiley One, and Palms.

Dry River Yacht Club @ Crescent Ballroom

Local heroes DRYC will begin their January Thursday night residency at Crescent tonight, opening will be Gospel Claws, The Haymarket Squares, Yellow Minute, and Quick Henry.

Friday:

Battle of the Bands @ School of Rock

A two night event at SoR, this first night features D'Fahie, Downfall, House Without a Sink, Quiet! I'm Hunting!, The Soldiers of Virtue, Wallow in the Mire, and The Worrymen.

Night 2 on Saturday features Akaidya, Dellynn, Fat Tree, M.A.V. and the Superteam Music Group, The Notebook Bastards, Shattered Systems, The Undead Walking Dead, and Village Blasting Club.

Saturday:

R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet SingAlong @ FilmBar

Treasure Mammal leads the sing along, and plays the warm up dance party as well - the main question is: how many chapters of the saga will they be playing that night ?
