Interesting to Note:
The information for tickets and show indicates “Everyone Needs a Ticket, Including Infants.” I just found that odd for many reasons.

In a recent press release Live Nation and Danny Zelisko Presents announced the show and notes that this performance marks Billy Joel’s first solo headlining appearance in the Valley in eight years. This show also marks his 6th ever performance at US Airways Center -- which earns him the honor of being the first-ever inductee as a US Airways Center Entertainment Legend.

"We are extremely happy to have Billy return to his home away from home here in Phoenix, for his 6th appearance at the arena since it opened in 1992. We are equally proud that he will be the first Entertainer enshrined as a US Airways Center Entertainment Legend" said Ralph Marchetta, SVP & GM of US Airways Center.

Billy Joel is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world. Having sold over 150 million albums globally, his music has remained among the most popular in the world. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time and the third best-selling solo artist.

Recently, Joel was honored by Steinway & Sons with a painted portrait that hangs in Steinway Hall in Manhattan, the first non-classical pianist to be immortalized in the collection.

He played to more than 110,000 fans when he performed the final concerts at Shea Stadium, featured in the 2010 documentary film "The Last Play At Shea.” Joel recently received The Kennedy Center Honor, one of the United States' top cultural awards.

Billy Joel has received six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards. His music has also served as the inspiration and score for the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway play “Movin’ Out.”

Billy Joel is a true American treasure and musical legend without question. I have never has the good fortune to see him live and will be beyond thrilled when he takes the stage June 1.
