According to an Entertainment Weekly report on Thursday, “Phineas and Ferb” star Vincent Martella – who voices Phineas Flynn on the popular Disney Channel animated series – will appear on the zombie apocalypse series as one of the Woodbury refugees.
Martella will play Patrick, a refugee who is in the same age group as Carl, the son of the series’ main character, Rick Grimes.
“He’s right around Carl’s age,” Martella told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s a little bit older. He’s one of the new people who Carl gets a little closer with. Carl hasn’t really had anybody his age, so now you kind of get to see Carl’s relationship with people his own age and that’s one of the things that Patrick is bringing to the show.”
Many fans recognized Martella when AMC released another video peek at the upcoming season.
In a series so filled with uncertainty about who will next be killed off, how far Martella’s Patrick makes it into Season 4 of “The Walking Dead” is unknown.
Any “The Walking Dead” news is good “The Walking Dead” news, right?
Yeah, it’s been sad to see fan favorites like Shane, Dale, T-Dog, and Merle meet their demise, but such character deaths open the way for the addition of new characters that will eventually bite the dust too.
Martella’s addition is a nice touch, but given the “Phineas and Ferb” fan base, most viewers probably won’t know who he is, unless many in the 18-to-49 demographic are still into cartoons.
Given the success the show has had, can well-known celebrity cameos be far away? How cool would that be to see Matt Damon or Adele pop up as a walker or ill-fated “survivor”?
“The Walking Dead” returns on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. on AMC in Provo.
