We have been pleasantly surprised at the amount of interest, both from bars and restaurants as well as the general public,” said PWW co-founder Kate Moroney, GM at Vintage. “In our first year out of the gate we’re focusing on throwing a few great parties. We expect the list of participating restaurants and bars to grow in coming years. At the end of the day we just want people in Philly to drink more wine and get the ball rolling for this inaugural year.” Bill Eccleston, GM/Wine Director at Panorama is the PWW’s other co-founder.

Philly Wine Week is the brainchild of wine professionals Bill Eccleston {Panorama} and Kate Moroney {Vintage} along with a few other key Philadelphia wine experts. PWW is intended to promote wine knowledge and excitement to the Philadelphia public. Additionally, PWW is intended to build camaraderie among Philadelphia wine professionals and foster community among restaurateurs, sommeliers, GMs, chefs, bartenders, industry people in general, and wine-lovers at large.
