Life today is carried on online. We engulf ourselves with our social lives by checking in on various social media sites, we update our status on Facebook, divulge details of our happenings by tweeting on Twitter, post pictures on Instagram, network on LinkedIn. The list is endless.

As a single living in Philly, it is important to remember that life also happens offline, out in the real world, outside. Don’t lose the human experience of interacting with other people. This is of outmost importance to singles everywhere. Make sure that your life includes room to journey out into the world, enjoy and explore nature, and tantalize your senses with everything that life has to offer.

Life is hectic. Work is demanding and takes up a good chunk of everyday life. Don’t fall prey to becoming a workaholic to avoid going home to an empty condo or house. Schedule time on your calendar for you, your hobbies, your interests, and your social life.

Make plans with friends. Go out to dinner, movies, concerts, malls, etc. While out, keep an eye open for opportunities to meet other people. You never know when Mr. or Ms. Right will cross your path.

Don’t be afraid to venture out alone. Yes, you can. You can go to dinner, a movie, a concert, etc. alone. Sometimes surrounding yourself with friends can be a detriment to meeting someone. Guys are hesitant to approach girls for fear of rejection and vice versa. Surround yourself with two or three friends, and the odds are that much less that you’ll be approached.

Now that it is summertime and the cold, bitter, snow filled winter is behind you. Get offline and go out to meet someone!
