It seems every great show is happening tonight. Well at least every show I want to attend is happening tonight. The problem is there are so many great choices today. Here are three of my picks for local concerts this Friday September 6th.
1. Bike Crash
Short songs that are packed with energy. Bike Crash sounds basically like a literal translation of their name, but the crash sounds nice (if that makes sense). It's punk but I would like to call it Punk-y Brewster. The trio is playing at the Great Indoors. See the Facebook page for more details. 2. Family Vacation--Release Show
Family Vacation is simply good local music. I am not just saying that because they all go to my recent alma mater Temple University. The music is fun. The crowd has fun, the band has fun, and YOU have fun. So everyone wins at their shows. Tonight is the release of their debut album, Trails. Go see them along with some other local bands like Maitland as well as a few out-of-towners. See the Facebook page for full info. https://www.facebook.com/events/174141599437536/
I cannot write the full name of this band, but you can guess what it is.Though not local (they're from Portland, Oregon), this touring band has had songs on TV shows and Target commercials. It's easy to see why their music is so widely appealing. The simple answer is it's good music you can dance to. Trust me, I've had dance parties solely listening to Strfkr. They're at Union Transfer tonight. Tickets are $20. See the link for more details.
