My daughter made dinner the other night and magic happened. She got into the kitchen with the intent (and craving) of making fries with a topping of some sort. She crafted a pan of delicious Philly cheese steak fries that were to die for. I ate more than I should have, but it was difficult to stop eating them!
They were simple to make and are definitely a new favorite in my household.
To make these yummy fries, you will need:
- Beef broth
- steaks (one to two good sized steaks or beef strips)
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 package shredded Mexican style cheese
- 1 onion, diced
Preheat oven to temperature required to cook fries.
In a frying pan, saute onion, red and green peppers until caramelized. Cut steak into strips or if using steak strips, ensure the strips are small enough to fit nicely on fries.
Place fries in oven.
Add 1/4 cup beef broth and cover pan. Allow steak and pepper mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes.
Uncover pan. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour cheese over the top and cover for a minute or two until the cheese is melted.
Once the fries are cooked, pour steak mixture over the top. If preferred, bake in oven for about 10 minutes to crisp the dish.
