Current “American Idol” champ Phillip Phillips premiered the music video for his new single, “Gone Gone Gone,” on Friday. The Instagram-like clip features the singer performing among shots of loving couples.
Phillips became a success last year with the release of his “Idol” coronation song, “Home,” which was featured during coverage of the Olympic games. The singer's folk pop sound proved to be winning over America so he continues the trend with “Gone Gone Gone.” Its music video sees Phillips performing the love song while couples, both old and young, celebrate their relationships. There is a Lana Del Rey influence with the video splicing in home movie shots of happy couples. The camera also uses different exposure techniques to create an Instagram-like feel in rural America. The new Phillips' clip is as warm and cozy as the one for “Home.”
Phillips' "The World from the Other Side of the Moon" hit no. 4 on Billboard's albums chart back in November and has gone on to sell over 500,000 copies since its release.
