Phillip Garrido’s public defender attorney, Susan Gellman filed an evidence request for information gathered against her client. Phillip Garrido has been accused of kidnapping Jaycee Dugard in 1991, holding her captive for 18 years, and fathering her two daughters by raping Jaycee.
The six-page request was filed in El Dorado Superior Court, and requested a list of prosecution witnesses for trial, witness statements, photos, police officer notes and records of samples of hair, blood, urine or tissue taken during the investigation, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Gellman requested "all relevant real evidence seized or obtained as part of the investigation of the offense(s) charges" as well as "the existence of a felony or moral turpitude conviction of any material witness whose credibility is likely to be critical to the outcome of the trial."
Phillip and Nancy Garrido are being held in the El Dorado County Jail, and an October 29 date is set for a preliminary hearing. Most likely the trial will not begin for two years.
Jaycee Dugard was reunited with her family in late August and family members have described her as happy with her new life.
