Philipp Plein military-inspired AW2013 collection (Photos)

A gun-toting muscular model walked the runway in Philipp Plein jeans, bare chested, except for a myriad of tattoos and the block-lettered message written in red ink: ONLY KILL FOR REAL LOVE emblazoned on his rippling torso. And that was to sell Plein’s jeans!

This is how German designer Philipp Plein presented his show during Milan Fashion Week Menswear Autumn/Winter 2013 on January 14, 2013 in Milan, Italy.

Philipp Plein sees every man as a fighter – whether soldier, guerilla or mercenary.

His ultra masculine male models brandished rifles (the real thing – not just props!) and painted their face with grease paint, donning military-inspired pieces such as olive drab coats, bomber jackets and leather army coats, accessorized with belaclavas, garrison caps and gas masks.

Other more practical accessories include chunky leather overnighter bags, a selection of combat boots and leather sneakers.

Philipp Plein teams his denim jeans (many with different types of distressing) with T-shirts featuring motifs such as super heroes, skulls inspired by Mexican Day of the Dead sugar skulls and statements such as “I Y’am what I Y’am.”

Philipp Plein – always edgy and street-smart – doesn’t disappoint you in his hard-edged military-inspired Menswear Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. Carry on the good fight!
