Philipp Plein controversial Fall/Winter collection featured models with guns (Photos)

German menswear designer Philipp Plein is creating controversy after sending gun-toting models down the runway on his Fall/Winter 2013 fashion show in Milan.

The designer took his military inspired collection a little too far by adding automatic weapons, gas masks and balaclavas as accessories. To top it off, some of the models had body paint on their bare chest that read "ONLY KILL FOR LOVE" and "LIFE'S A GAME AND IT'S NOT FAIR”.

Because of the recent shootings in Connecticut and the recent debate on gun control in the United States, some people may find this inappropriate, distasteful and a little bit shocking.

I personally find the use of weapons on the runway of very poor taste. The collection could have been beautiful without the guns. Fashion designers have freedom of expressions and I never want to knock anyone down but you can be edgy and create a buzz in other ways.

What do you guys think? Is the designer trying to purposely cause controversy or is he making a fashion statement?
