Philip Treacy fashion balanced on Madonna's head at Super Bowl (photos)

Who would have ever guessed that Philip Treacy, hat maker to the Royals, Lady Gaga, and all sorts of celebrities, would end up at the Super Bowl half time show? But then, again, who would have guessed that Madonna would have landed the gig in the first place?

In any case, both Philip Treacy and the Material Girl were represented, the former in the form of a warrior-esque head topper that seemed to have grown horns. Golden horns.

This creation may become as lauded as the controversial hat Princess Beatrice wore tipped on her noggin for the Royal Wedding last year. Remember that one? Although many sartorial pundits punished Sarah Ferguson's kid for wearing such a bold statement, Philip Treacy himself defended the 22-year old, saying:

"...there was a little bit of bullying going on...In the future, we'll look back and think [Prince Beatrice] looked wild."

As for Madonna, nobody is looking back at what this superstar wore on her head during her mesmerizing Super Bowl half time performance. They are looking straight at the Philip Treacy fashion statement made just for the Vogue hitmaker who always makes a statement, sartorial and otherwise.
