Philip Seymour Hoffman’s private funeral is set for Friday. The actor’s longtime love, Mimi O’Donnell, planned the memorial on Tuesday, the LA Times reported on Feb. 4.
Hoffman was found dead on Sunday in his New York City apartment of an apparent heroin overdose. He leaves behind three young children.
Philip Seymour Hoffman’s private funeral will be a memorial only open to family and close friends such as Cate Blanchett and Justin Theroux, both of whom came to visit Phillip’s family this week.
The actor’s family has asked people to donate to the DreamYard Project or the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, both charities in lieu of flowers. The charities were both close to Hoffman’s heart.
Meanwhile, police are on the hunt for the drug dealers who sold Philip Seymour Hoffman the drugs that ultimately killed him, and if they’re found they could be facing homicide charges.
