In shocking news today, Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead at the age of 46. On Feb. 2, TV Line shared the shocking news with fans. This story is still developing so there is not much out at this time. He was found in his New York City apartment on Sunday.

TMZ shared the news that he was found with a needle in his arm and it is very possible it was a drug overdose that took his life. He has been in rehab before for drug problems.

He is known for his time in movies including "The Master," "Scent of a Woman," "Patch Adams," and "Twister." His acting career started back in 1991 and he has done great including the win of an Academy Award.

One sad part about this story is that an Internet hoax came out recently that Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away, but that was not true at all. Now on Feb. 2, the actor really did die in his apartment. More information will come out as the death is investigated, but so far it is still developing.
