Weather Summary

Today is mild and breezy day in Philadelphia with noon temperatures in the middle 60s across the region. Winds are gusting over 30 miles per hour at times due to a westerly flow of air rushing in on the western side of the front. The cold front will reach the eastern seaboard this afternoon. Cloudiness will gradually break and move eastward. During the overnight hours, winds will diminish to near calm and the sky will clear. This will allow temperatures to drop back into the 40s by morning. On Wednesday, a sunny and less windy day is anticipated with highs rebounding into the 60s. High pressure will continue to build over the Middle Atlantic states on Thursday and Friday resulting in plenty of early spring sunshine and highs in the 60s to lower 70s. A cold front will sweep across the area on Friday with some cloudiness and perhaps a few scattered rain showers; however, most areas will remain dry and temperatures will be mild with highs approaching 70 degrees. The upcoming weekend will feature a clearing sky on Saturday and Sunday with sunshine. Lows over the weekend will be in the 40s to near 50 and highs will climb into the 60s. The long-range outlook indicates a return to colder temperatures later next week with readings about ten degrees below normal which would equate to lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s.
