Philadelphia Phillies mid season review Something seems amiss with this team. They sit in third place in the National League East with a 41-37 record. However they are three games behind the Atlanta Braves, and when we look at their record by month we see a team that is just a tad better than a .500 club. Their best month was May where they put together a 16-12 record. They have a 10-8 record in interleague play, and finished June with just a 13-13 record. I think we may be seeing fatigue set in as this team has made consecutive tripe to teh World Series the last two years. |

Halladay throws a perfect game 27 Florida Marlins players came to bat against Roy Halladay on Saturday, May 29th and 27 Marlins went down in order. Yes, baseball fans that means Roy Halladay threw just the 20th perfect game in MLB history, and the second one in the 2010 season. It was the 155 career win for the Phillies ace in his illustrious 13 year career. This will probably go down as one of the best 1-0games in the history of the league. For the Phillies, who had dealt for him this past off season, and dealt away Cliff Lee last season at the trade deadline, it looks like they picked the right guy to go with. |

2010 Philadelphia Phillies payroll Some people always want to argue that a new ballpark doesn’t help a team; well the answer for that argument is the Philadelphia Phillies. They moved into Citizen Bank Park in 2004, and since that time they have gone from a mediocre franchise, to an elite National League Baseball team. To take that one step farther they may be one of the finest baseball team’s in operation today. |

2010 MLB season preview: Philadelphia Phillies The Philadelphia Phillies seem poised to do something that has not been done by a National League team since the 1940’s, and that is, make three consecutive trips to the World Series. This team probably has the best lineup in all baseball, and adding Roy Halladay to the starting rotation certainly makes them a whole lot better. They should easily win their division, and threaten the 100 win plateau, as for the World Series; well the smart money isn’t betting against them. |

Phillies land Halladay, trade Lee This is a very complicated deal, but it looks like Roy Halladay will head to the Philadelphia Phillies, Cliff Lee will head to Seattle to be their ace, and a bunch of prospects will trade in Oakland, California sunshine for the CN Tower of Toronto, Canada. Right now it is hard to say who the clear winners and losers in this deal are, but tit looks like the Seattle Mariners got the best end of the deal currently, and that the Phillies were able to land a dominant pitcher, and restock their prospect talent pool. Not a bad day at work at all, so in a flurry of deal here is what each team gets: |

2009 MLB season in review: Philadelphia Phillies What can we say about the 2008 World Champion and 2009 National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies. Regardless of records, regardless of who won the 2009 World Series the Phillies may just be the best team in baseball. The may have the best lineup in the MLB, and they are unafraid to go out and make moves that have the potential to make this team that much better. In 2009 they made a strong mid season trade to acquire Cliff Lee and he helped them make it all the way back to the World Series, before losing to the New York Yankees. Now the Phillies will tweak their roster and head into 2010 as the favorites to once again win the National League. |

Unable to reach an agreement with Toronto for Pitcher Roy Halladay, the Philadelphia Phillies today traded for reining AL Cy Young award winner Cliff Lee. Cleary the Phillies are in a win now mode, while the Indians are looking to rebuild. |
