On Sunday, Eli Manning collected another three interceptions to add to his league leading total in an embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After falling behind 19-7 at halftime, the Giants rallied to take a 21-19 lead in the third quarter. Yet, it was not enough good to take away the bad.
With Nick Foles playing in place of Michael Vick, the Eagles saw the lead evaporate in grand fashion. There's no doubt that this loss would have been put on Michael Vick's ability to stay healthy. Instead, Foles rallied the troops behind a revamped defense to score the last 17 points of the game.
Nick Foles connected on two fourth quarter touchdown passes. One was a 25 yard strike to Brent Celek. The other was a 38 yard clincher to DeSean Jackson.
While the offense was good throughout the game, Philadelphia wore down the Giants in the second and fourth quarters. They scored 30 (16 in the 2nd) of their points in those two periods. The quick tempo took some steam from the Giants defensive tenacity.
The difference in the offensive philosophy and breakdown was incredible. Michael Vick led the Eagles in rushing with 79 yards. Once Nick Foles came into the game, there were no quarterback runs. Foles beat the Giants from the pocket.
