The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance is the region’s premier leadership, research, and advocacy organization for arts and culture. The Cultural Alliance wants to increase teens’ access to all of the incredible arts and culture that Philadelphia has to offer, as a means to aid the youth in discovering their own identities and inspire them to include culture in their everyday lives.

With this purpose in mind, The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance created STAMP (Students at Museums in Philly); a program launched by the Cultural Alliance, in partnership with 12 museums and attractions, sponsors and community organizations.

On March 5, 2014, The STAMP program and the University of the Arts (Philadelphia) Pre-College Program, announced their collaboration for the production of a new event, Discover Arts and Culture for Teens Day (Discover A.C.T Day). A.C.T. Day will take place at the University of the Arts, Hamilton Building (320 South Broad Street), on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 1 to 4 pm.

Discover A.C.T. Day is FREE just for teens, as representatives from after-school programs, classes, summer camps, and more will be available to assists teens and their families with discovering opportunities to engage in creative and artistic activities.

Alliance Interim Executive Director, Michael Norris, expressed the importance of the organization's mission and the event,

"With continued pressure on arts and education funding in our schools, the cultural community is increasingly becoming the best resource for quality cultural experiences for kids. This event represents a one-stop opportunity to learn about all the great experiences for young people at our cultural attractions." (M. Norris, GPCA)

The STAMP Website is the one-stop portal for the program, with all of the information teens and parents need.

A few local organizations participating in Discover A.C.T. Day include:
