Phil Robertson speaks out about the recent controversy that put his reality television gig in jeopardy -- and what he had to say may or may not shock you. On Dec. 23, Starpulse reported that the "Duck Dynasty" patriarch gave a speech at his local church about his recent anti-gay comments and he tried to clear some things up. He spoke for about 45 minutes to all of those who were willing to listen (including at least one media outlet).
"Commonsense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman. From the beginning Jesus said, 'It is a man and a woman.' Adam was made and Eve was made for this reason. They left their fathers and mothers and be united to become one flesh, that’s what marriage is all about," Robertson said.
If Phil Robertson speaks out about his religion, you know that his views are not going to change. This is what he believes because of the faith that he was brought up on. While he did say that he loved "all men and women" he also said that he's has been wrongly judged based on his beliefs and that he will continue to spread a Bible-driven message regardless of what people think of him or his faith.
"We are a bunch of rednecks from Louisiana, but I am not uneducated, I have a degree from Louisiana Tech. But this week I have been called an ignoramus. This week I have been asked, 'Is this the first time you have brought up sin?' I said, 'Are you kidding? I have been traveling to and fro spreading this message," Robertson also said.
Phil Robertson speaks out about religion more than you might think -- but he doesn't do so in forums where others don't feel similar. He does it at Christian gatherings and in church settings. He isn't about pushing his faith onto other people -- he is just a man of God, his God, and he shouldn't have to change that just because Tom, Betty, and Joe think differently. Do you agree?
