"Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson just can't shake the negative press lately. He almost lost his A&E reality show after making some distasteful comments regarding homosexuals and black men. Now, on December 30 the New York Daily News reports that he is offensive to women as well.
The latest scandal involving Phil Robertson involves remarks that he made on camera in regard to marrying young. How young, you say? We're talking 15 and 16-year old girls according to the eldest Robertson. By the way, Phil Robertson did marry his current wife when was just a tend 16-years old.
The footage is not new but in the wake of recent controversy, those who oppose Robertson's views have certainly dug up more dirt. In a 2009 YouTube video, Phil Robertson is quoted in regard to marrying young. "You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks,” says the obviously rough around the edges reality star.
To further insult the feminists, Robertson was quoted as saying, "make sure that she can cook a meal. You need to eat some meals that she cooks, check that out." Robertson has already offended multiple civil rights groups and now we can add those who fight for women's rights to that list.
It is unclear how this latest revelation will affect Phil Robertson and the rest of the "Duck Dynasty" crew. What are your thoughts? Has the patriarch of duck calls gone too far or is this a witch hunt that needs to end? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
