The controversy over remarks “Duck Dynasty” star, Phil Robertson made in a magazine interview has taken over social media. Posts on Facebook and Twitter have fans and outraged viewers up in arms. A&E has yet to speak out about the boycotting of the network or the potential ending of the show. According to a Dec. 22 report from TMZ, there are at least two other networks that would like to pick up the Robertson clan if A&E decides to dump them. “Duck Dynasty” might have to be retired, but with the family, the name of the show wouldn’t matter to fans.
There are several Facebook pages and petitions going viral regarding Phil Robertson and the “Duck Dynasty” brand. A&E suspended the patriarch indefinitely following his comments about homosexuality. Fans of the Robertson family know that they stand as one unit and without Phil; there will most likely be no “Duck Dynasty.” Money is not an issue for this family because they were independently weathly before the reality show.
Until there is a statement issued from the A&E network regarding the status of Phil Robertson returning to “Duck Dynasty,” fans are boycotting any program on the network. It is anyone’s guess what will happen to the show but one thing is for sure, the Robertson family will stand united.
