Phil Mickelson was recently diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. Psoriatic Arthritis like Rheumatoid Arthritis is caused when the immune system begins attacking various joints within the body. This can cause a quick onset of intense pain. While there is no cure for this disease there are ways to treat the pain, helping those who suffer with this disease to live as normal a life as possible. Mickelson is now using Enbrel to treat the disease. Enbrel is used to suppress the immune and its attack. This shot taken once per week, can help alleviate the pain, when the immune system responds.

Below is a video of Phil Mickelson as he announces his diagnosis and discusses the treatment he has chosen. His hope, along with that of his fans, is that he can continue to play golf without too much difficulty.

How sad, taking something that lowers your immune system in order for it not to attack your body at the same time what does lowering your immune system do for your body when other diseases try to attack it? Hope he doesn't suffer any setbacks.

Good luck Phil I used enbrel for the same disease and lucky me after taking enbrel I now have MS, at the time I took enbrel there was no warning about enbrel and MS - now there is - hopefully someday there will be a class action suit as for now the lawyers tell me not enough money for just one person. People need to come forward if they have taken enbrel and the get MS so others don't have to go thru
    this.

I am sorry that you had difficulty with your meds. I took Vioxx before it was taken off of the market and I also developed some issues with it. I now treat my arthritis without meds, using more natural ways.
