Phil Mickelson falls at Pebble Beach while chasing a golf ball, inspiring his legions of fans to wonder whether finding an errant golf ball on treacherous ground is an activity appropriate for a man wearing golf cleats. According to Golf.com, Mickelson's Feb. 9, 2013, spill made it onto national television.
Of course, from national television, Phil Mickelson's fall easily made it onto YouTube where fans of golf and comedy alike are able to replay the incident at their leisure. Thus far, views of the golfer's misstep are closing in on 100,000 strong and growing.
Watching the video, it's easy to see what went wrong. As the veteran golfer inches his way down some slippery rocks toward his wayward golf ball, his feet fly out from under him, and he lands squarely on his posterior.
Fortunately, Phil Mickelson's fall caused no apparent damage except, perhaps, to his pride. Maybe next time, he will keep his feet on solid ground, but that wouldn't be nearly as entertaining. If you missed it, you can watch the incident here.
