Pheres-Band Thunderhoof from 'Journey Into Nyx'

Featured in the Mortals of Myth intro pack, Pheres-Band Thunderhoof is one of the newest Magic: The Gathering cards from Wizards of the Coast's expert expansion set Journey Into Nyx.

Pheres-Band Thunderhoof - 4G
Creature - Centaur Warrior (Common)
Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets Pheres-Band Thunderhoof, put two +1/+1 counters on Pheres-Band Thunderhoof.
"Flesh and bone or star and shadow. It makes no difference to my club."

On its own Pheres-Band Thunderhoof isn't that impressive. Five for a 3/4? Pheres-Band Thunderhoof doesn't make a dramatic impact every time you target it as Anthousa, Setessan Hero or Dawnbringer Charioteers do, however this common green creature can easily grow rapidly in size to a 5/6 and into a mighty 7/8 or beyond. You'll need a bit of help to do so though.

Remember, it's a common. That means you'll be seeing it fairly often in draft and limited pools. While Pheres-Band Thunderhoof may not look that sexy, all it takes is an Ordeal of Nylea or Leafcrown Dryad for it to become much more relevant. And with strive cards like Ajani's Presence your Pheres-Band Thunderhoof can transform into a game finishing threat.

How will you use Pheres-Band Thunderhoof?
