On Monday March 31 NBC confirmed via Twitter that Pharrell Williams will be joining the panel of coaches for the 7th season of The Voice.

"Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON 7," the tweet read.

This will actually be the “Happy” singer’s second appearance on The Voice as Usher brought him on board as a guest mentor for his team in 2013.

"It's been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution in the world of music -- the Despicable Me franchise soundtracks, his Oscar-nominated song 'Happy' and his Grammy-winning collaboration with Daft Punk on the breakout dance hit 'Get Lucky.' His dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incomparable accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, make him an irresistible addition to The Voice family," said Paul Telegdy of NBC Entertainment, CNN reports.

Pharrell has made quite the impression within the past year from his new hit song “Happy” to his unique taste in fashion the performer has definitely expanded his fan base. It is no surprise NBC decided to bring him on as one of the newest coaches.

The Singer/Producer seems to be excited about his new role on the hit show as he Tweeted, "this is going to be so fun", soon after the official announcement by NBC.
