It's official, currently nominated for seven Grammy's this year, singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, fashion designer, and drummer, Pharrell Williams joins Beyonce, Haim, Adele, AC/DC and more established superstars and exciting new talent at Columbia Records.
Williams has had a very successful year, responsible and featured for numerous hits, such as, "Get Lucky" with new label mates, Daft Punk ; Robin Thicke and T.I. on "Blurred Lines" ; and collaborated with many artists projects, such as: Miley Cyrus, Nardwaur, Steve Aoki, Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, and Tyler, the Creator. Williams is to release a solo project next year which will include his current single, "Happy", off the official soundtrack for the sequel to Despicable Me 2, alongside composer, Heitor Pereira.
This year Pharrell also launched his creative collective/platform, iamOTHER, which is a creative venture and way of life. Pharrell has been recognized the most in the past as producer, designer, and front man for indie band, N.E.R.D, with Chad Hugo and Shay Hayley. Pharrell released his first solo album off his own label, Star Trek in 2006 entitled "In My Mind"; his upcoming album release will be his second solo album.
