Pharmaceutical Companies via doctors are killing Americans

Once again tremendous grief sweeps across America after awareness that Grammy Award winning songstress, Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel suite just hours before a Pre-Grammy celebration jumped off.

Media has not released much information, however EMT's that arrived at the scene and tried to revive Whitney report prescription drugs were present and had been consumed, although no illegal drugs were found in her room. There is strong indication that Whitney over used prescription medication causing unconsciousness and subsequently drowning in the hotel bath tub.

This resonance of prescription drug related deaths seem to be never ending as the untimely deaths of many well known icons continue to occur over the last decade. Yet pharmaceutical companies continue to grow. It appears the message is, "As long as a Doctor prescribes it, it is legal." While this bears some truth we know that synthetic drugs come with harmful side effects. Moreover, when mixed with alcohol or other drugs can prove fatal. The fact must be hard driven that drug misuse and abuse is not limited to "illegal" drugs. People misuse prescription drugs more often than realized, unintentionally.

North Charleston harbors the major pharmaceutical company, AAIPharma Services Corp. who recently announced a significant expansion in response to "growing demand." The expansion is taking place in North Charleston on Leeds Ave. The company explains that it will be adding 15-20 jobs by March 2012. This number of jobs does not seem justifiably equivalent to the significant growth and demand world wide that prompted the company to "expand." However it is significant in that it currently only has 50 workers. Therefore this addition of workers could be an increase of 35-40% jobs in the company.

However AAIPharma announced this expansion during the same time frame the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Local Area Employment Statistics for North Charleston. The cities population is 97,471 and currently has an unemployment rate of 7.9% or approximately 7,700 unemployed citizens in December 2011. As of December 29, 2011 AAIPharma's revenue was $171 million. Of that, $50 million was made by the North Charleston location. AAIPharma Services Corp. works with many of the world's top drug manufacturers. See more details of the company's bio here:  http://www.indeed.com/cmp/Aaipharma-Services

These facts don't paint a picture, yet create an obvious scene more like connect the dots. The rich and famous with their on staff doctors and and around the clock medical care and access, are not even immune to the dangers and fatalities of prescription abuse and misuse. Therefore the unemployed and uninsured certainly are at risk. Sober Recovery in North Charleston reports: "Abuse of prescription drugs, especially among young people, is increasing at an alarming rate. In answer to the increasing need, there are many prescription drug addiction treatment centers for you to choose from."

AAIPharma Services Corp. works with many of the world's top drug manufacturers. Doctors main resource is the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) which is published annually by manufacturers of pharmeceutical drugs. Doctors rely heavily on PDR's as they are recommended drugs to prescribe based on the combination of symptoms patients are experiencign.

AAIPharma's success and popularity appear to be destroying more of the communities they work in than improvement by employment and community service . Is this Customer Service and Community Growth? How do you feel about this?
