The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are in shock over the news that Phaedra Parks' husband, Apollo Nida, is facing fraud and identity theft charges. According to Hollywood Life on Monday the complaint was filed by the U.S. District Attorney’s and Apollo Nida has already surrendered to authorities. He was later released with a pretrial bond of $25,000 and a preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 12, 2014.
While it sounds like the situation is under control, fans are looking for answers and some people think the reality couple should get off TV. According to Wendy Williams, the host of the Wendy Williams Show on Monday, neither Phaedra Parks or Apollo Nida should be on the show anymore as the charges are so serious. Williams even sent out a text on social media reaffirming her belief.
“RHOA's Apollo was charged w/bank fraud & identity theft. Wendy says it's time 4 @PhaedraParks & Apollo to get off #RealityTV. Do u agree?” tweeted Wendy Williams from her official Twitter account on Monday.
The criminal complained against Apollo Nida is very comprehensive on the allegations surrounding an investigation from the Secret Service. Allegedly Nida opened fake bank accounts under the names of the victims. Then he filled those accounts with stolen U.S. Treasury checks, auto loan payments and unclaimed money from state and federal agencies.
Wendy Williams does have a point about the couple leaving television. It might send a bad message to others while the stars are dealing with this legal issue. It might also be impossible to film as this is a serious problem and anything that is said on tape can be used in court.
