Phaedra Parks of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" has been dealing with a lot since even before the last season ended, but now she's getting rid of some excess baggage. Urban Islandz reported on July 26, 2014, that she is officially separating herself from her estranged husband, Apollo Nida, as she has served him with divorce papers.

All of this come on the heels of a decision by the courts to put Apollo away for eight years in prison. That's due to his money laundering, bank fraud, and credit card fraud schemes, but he got the time down by snitching on some others.

At his sentencing, Phaedra Parks wasn't even present. That didn't set well with Apollo.

“I mean, my wife didn’t even f**king show up for my sentencing,” he said. “I’m still salty about that.”

The Inquisitr said that Nida is looking to reduce his sentence even more from the eight years he got, but Phaedra doesn't seem to care. She is going ahead with the divorce proceedings and has supposedly served him with the papers.

According to Phaedra, she finally decided to move ahead with the divorce due to Apollo's "blatant disrespect for their marriage."

There are a number of other things that have ultimately led to the divorce papers being served, and it has a lot to do with Apollo. Those that watch "RHOA" saw the issues between him, Phaedra, and Kenya Moore, and since then, he's admitted to trying to have an affair with the former beauty queen.

In the midst of the divorce proceedings, it is being said that Phaedra will prevent the couple's children from seeing Apollo in prison.
