Phaedra Parks' Apollo Nida working to reduce jail time before sentencing

Just days before his sentencing, Apollo Nida's lawyers are hard at work trying to reduce the possible number of years that he may spend behind bars. On Sunday, July 6, Radar Online reported that lawyers for the husband of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks have recently submitted a request to the court to lower his criminal history category, which would in turn reduce the maximum number of years that he can be sentenced to.

Apollo faces sentencing on Tuesday, July 8, for conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud, to which he pleaded guilty to in early May. Currently, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 30 years.

His lawyers don't believe that he deserves that long of a prison sentence. In court documents filed last week, they requested that the court change his criminal history category from that of category V to category IV. They argued that Apollo's criminal past is not the same as that of the violent offenders, drug kingpins and other serious criminals that category V was created to address. If successful, Apollo will face a lower maximum prison sentence.

While Apollo has remained uncharacteristically silent on his social media accounts, perhaps because he's busy taking care of affairs before a long prison sentence, his wife Phaedra has shared a lot of happy moments with her fans lately. On Independence Day, she posted a photo of her, holding her younger son Dylan, with Kandi Burruss at a party. The two have actually just returned from a trip to Cancun with a big group of friends to celebrate a friend's birthday.

About a week ago, Phaedra Parks also shared a photo in which she wrote that she feels blessed by God for all the good things in her life. Clearly, if "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star is sad and worried at all about Apollo Nida's future, she isn't showing it.
