The tournament is slated to happen from July 14-20. Some of Canada’s biggest names, up-and-coming stars, established veterans and international standouts are expected to be in Thunder Bay for the event.
Community members, city officials and local sponsors along with PGA Tour Canada players Cory Renfrew and Riley Wheeldon gathered at Whitewater Golf Club to attend the announcement ceremony.
The PGA Tour Canada launched its inaugural season in 2013 with nine events taking place across the country. The Thunder Bay Golf Classic is the first addition to the 2014 schedule. It will be played one week before the RBC Canadian Open.
The PGA Tour Canada’s inaugural season wrapped up last week when Max Gilbert of St. Georges, Que., won the Tour Championship of Canada presented by Freedom 55 Financial.
