The PGA leader board has a two gloved golfer as lead hit man this week. The Waste Management Phoenix Open has “Tommy Two Gloves” on the top of the PGA leader board. This is due to his skill and not "strong arming." The weather caused the tournament an extra day of play, with “Tommy Two Gloves” at one stroke over lead on Sunday and going into Monday’s play the leader.
With a name like "Tommy Two Gloves" in the lead of the "Waste Management" Phoenix Open, it sounds more like a golf tournament of the "Soprano" family rather than the PGA. Tony Soprano's business was "Waste Management" and "Tommy Two Gloves" would fit right in next to "Pauly Walnuts." But this is not HBO and this two gloved golfer is playing a great game of golf.
“Tommy Two Gloves” is Tommy Gainey, and he is making a name for himself at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, not just for his golf skills which are extraordinary this weekend, but for his two black leather gloves that he wears all through the golf rounds.
“Tommy Two Gloves” wears those gloves as a force of habit left over from his baseball years in high school. Tommy and his two black gloves along with his skill is being talked about in the sports world today.
Connecticut PGA fans watched the tournament on CBS all weekend, but due to regular programming on Monday morning the tournament will be carried on the Golf Channel. Connecticut golf fans can watch “Tommy Two Gloves” finish the rest of the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Monday on the Golf Channel starting at 11am EST.
