The last major of the golf season, the 2014 PGA Championship, has reached its final round, which will be broadcast nationally on a number of networks (TV schedule) and live streaming on NBC Live Extra (English online feed/Spanish en vivo). As indicated in a Golf Week Aug. 9 report, tee times for the fourth round are now available.
For one final time this year, Valhalla Golf Course in Louisville, Ky., will be the site for the 2014 PGA Championship tournament. The first pairing is scheduled to get underway from the first tee at 8:25 a.m. Eastern Time, while then final group is projected to commence at 2:55 p.m. ET.
As far as viewing options for the final round of the 2014 PGA Championship, TV coverage gets underway at 8 a.m. ET on Golf Channel with Live From the PGA Championship. After setting the tone for what should be a great day of golf, TNT Sports (DirecTV channel 245) will take over broadcasting duties from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. ET.
Finally, CBS Sports (Miami 4) will broadcast the final five hours of the 2014 PGA Championship’s fourth round, which barring inclement weather, should produce a new champion. For those watching online, things are a bit simpler, as PGA Championship Live will stream the action live as early as 8 a.m. ET (English and Spanish en vivo audio).
In terms of the leaderboard, Rory McIlroy continues his historic run as he goes into the final round leading the way at -13. Looking for his second major title of the season, the Northern Irishman holds a slim one-shot lead on Bernd Wiesberger (-12), who will join him in the final pairing of the Final Round.
Despite not playing his best golf, McIlroy sits atop the 2014 PGA Championship leaderboard following rounds of 66, 67 and 67. Coincidentally, Wiesberger also got off to a rather slow start, posting matching rounds of 68 in the opening two rounds, before bouncing back with a cool 65 this afternoon.
But before McIlroy and the 29-year-old Austrian tee off at 2:55 p.m. ET, they will be keeping a close on the group in front of them. With tallies of -11 and -10 respectively, Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson hope to make life interesting for the tournament leaders, as they tee off at 2:45 p.m. ET.
The Oklahoma State product sits alone in third place with rounds of 69, 66, and 67, while lefty is within striking distance following efforts of 69, 67 and 67. Also entering the final round at -10 for the tournament is Jason Day, who will be teeing off alongside Louis Oosthuizen at 2:35 p.m. ET.
Don’t miss what is sure to be an exciting day of world-class golf. Can Rory McIlroy continue his tear, or will someone rise to the challenge and stop his momentum. Follow the aforementioned TV start times, broadcasting options and live stream online feeds to see it all play out in English and Spanish (en vivo audio).
