It’s been a busy and troubling Sunday morning for homicide detectives in Prince George’s County.

Police say the most recent murder victim was discovered dismembered around 9:20 a.m. in the Laurel area.

Police officers were called to the 8800 block of Enfield Court at the Arden Pointe apartments around 9:20 a.m. today after body parts were discovered in a bag.

Once on scene, officers found a second bag with body parts in it. Detectives say they believe the victim was an adult male.

On Sunday afternoon, detectives, along with a cadaver dog, began combing through the apartment complex searching for additional evidence. They were joined by the department's current academy class to conduct a grid search of the scene.

Less than 10 hours earlier, homicide detectives were called to Oxon Hill after a man was discovered suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say officers responded to the 5000 block of Glassmanor Drive for a shooting around 11:50 p.m. Saturday. Once on scene, officers discovered the male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified the victim as 36-year-old Kenneth Antoine Jones of the 2700 block of Wade Road in Southeast, Washington, D.C.

Officer Nicole Hubbard, police spokeswoman, said the detectives are working leads and do not believe this to have been a random killing.
