Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning doesn’t have to explain his accomplishments nor does he need to engage in trash talk. But Seattle Seahawks outspoken star cornerback Richard Sherman was able to draw a response from Manning. According to USA Today Sports on Jan. 30, Manning responded to Sherman saying that he throws “ducks”.

In all fairness to Sherman, he made the statement in his own blog long before the upcoming Super Bowl XLVIII matchup, but of course word got back to Manning, who jokingly responded while delivering some trash talk himself.

Peyton Manning told reporters during the Broncos Super Bowl press conference:

“I believe it to be true as well. You can see he’s a smart player. I do throw ducks. I throw a lot of yards and touchdowns-ducks. So I’m actually quite proud of it.”

Sherman didn’t completely dismiss Manning’s talents. He wrote that Manning was among the most intelligent quarterbacks and also made reference to his accuracy and timing.

But what Richard Sherman may have accomplished indirectly, is a determined Peyton Manning who may just be focused on throwing Sherman’s way. If he does throw a duck however, it may go for a touchdown the other way.
