Who will break the tie between the Peytons/Paytons.and the Elis. As it stands Eli Manning is tied with the Peytons/Paytons (it's easier to say it than write it) duo which consists of Peyton Manning and Sean Payton the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. It's 2-2 with points being assigned with Super Bowl victories. So, it's 2-2.
Peyton Manning has an offense that's hard to top, scoring 44.75 points/game through four games. In contrast New Orleans is scoring 27 points/game. That's only 27 (compared to 44 +), but the Saints are 4-0 as are the Peyton Manning Broncos.
Young Eli Manning has a chore since his New York Giants are 0-4, but it's early and his Giants sneaked into the playoffs as a wild card a few years ago and they won a championship ring. In the Giants most recent championship year they looked horrible early with injuries plaguing them and with bad losses early in the season. They recovered by recuperating and they didn't lose faith in the big picture.
It looks like the Peytons/Paytons have a good shot of getting that tie breaking win this year. Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos have been established as the favorite, but the reemergence of the Saints with Sean Payton's return (from a full season league suspension) has raised hopes in the bayous. Do you remember all the hubbub about concussions and dirty tricks a few years ago?
What will be the path, though, for the now-suppressed Saints defense from dirty-tricking their way into opposing offense's heads. No more bounties so offense will HAVE to be strong. It's been real strong ever since the cool Brees arrived at the Mercedes-Benz house of (now) air conditioned awesomeness.
I always say great things about Drew Brees. Imagine New Orleans without him.
