On April 29, Petty Cash Taqueria in West Hollywood partnered with PEPCID® and Eater.com to present a special dinner showcasing the restaurant's most beloved Mexican dishes prepared by Chef Fabian Gallardo paired with hand-crafted cocktails by famed mixologist, Julian Cox.

The six-course prix fixe menu opened with the restaurant's signature Three Amigos cocktail (made with both tequila and smoky mescal) served alongside a plate of crispy fried brussels sprouts nestled on a bed of spicy morita-cauliflower cream. Several courses followed, including a savory parade of tacos of classic carne asada and beer-battered fish, before closing with dessert of light and airy buñuelos sitting atop a rich pool of chocolate-cinnamon sauce.

The dinner was part of the PEPCID® Tastemakers Series, launched earlier this year with a Thai-inspired dinner at Chef Andy Ricker's Pok Pok in New York City in partnership with culinary expert Ted Allen, best known as the host of the Food Network's "Chopped" cooking show, and popular food and dining website, Eater.com.

The goal of the Tastemaker Series, the hosts explained, was to remind food lovers that "heartburn doesn’t just affect those chowing down on massive plates of hot wings or indulging in fried food at the ballpark."

“I’m excited to partner with the PEPCID® brand to help fellow food enthusiasts learn how they can continue exploring the country’s booming restaurant scene and experimenting with exotic ingredients even if they are a heartburn sufferer,” said Ted Allen.

For those who did not have the pleasure of enjoying the special prix fixe dinners, PEPCID® is offering food lovers across the country the chance to win $5,000 to host their own Tastemakers dinner. From April 21 through May 18, food enthusiasts will be encouraged to go to the PEPCID® Facebook page to upload a picture of their perfect (empty) plate – the remains of a fantastic meal - as part of the #PEPCIDPerfectPlates Facebook photo contest. Allen will pick his favorite photo as the winner.
